... 1953, Gabrielle Kirk McDonald (right), the 1st woman to serve as President, or chief judge, of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. Judge McDonald had served on the U.S. District Court in Houston, Texas, before her ICTY appointment; today she serves at the Iran-U.S. Claims Tribunal at The Hague.
