... 1927 (80 years ago today), Victoria Claflin Woodhull (right), died in England at age 89. Fifty-years earlier the Ohio-born Woodhull -- "a vocal advocate of women's rights, labor reform and free love," and proprietor of the 1st woman-owned Wall Street brokerage -- had been the 1st woman to run for President of the United States following her nomination in New York by the Equal Rights Party.
... 1815, the Treaty of Vienna was concluded as part of the Congress of Vienna under way since the prior September. By means of the treaty "the relations of European states in chaos after the Napoleonic wars adjusted."
