Using pictures to tell 1,000 words

Kudos to Icaro Doria, 28-year-old Brazilian artist, for his series "Flags of the World." As in the depiction of the European Union above, the colors of each flag speak volumes about the people for whom it's a symbol. Considered in other images are, for example, lack of health care in Angola, poverty in Brazil, child labor in China, female genital mutilation in Somalia, and Iraq War attitudes in the United States.
