CEDAW photo contest

Amateur and professional photographers are invited to help celebrate the upcoming 30th birthday of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women -- adopted on Dec. 18, 1979 -- by submitting photographs depicting gender equality and nondiscrimination of women in action in the Asia-Pacific region in keeping with the theme "WOMEN CAN - Women's Rights are Human Rights."
The 7 contest winners will not only receive plaques of recognition, but will also have their entries displayed at an exhibition in Bangkok, Thailand, and on websites of sponsoring U.N. agencies. Overall sponsor is the Asia Pacific Regional Coordination Mechanism Thematic Working Group on Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women, a U.N. forum.
Deadline is Oct. 15, 2009; details and submission criteria are here. (Hat tip to our colleagues at ImmigrationProf Blog)
