Write On! London war crimes conference

(Write On! is an occasional item about notable calls for papers.)

Papers are being sought on the theme of Justice? – Whose Justice? Punishment, Mediation or Reconciliation?, for the 2nd Biennial War Crimes Conference to be held March 3-5, 2011, at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies of the University of London, Charles Clore House, 17 Russell Square.
Also cosponsoring the conference are the British universities' consortium known as SOLON, as well as the Centre for Contemporary British History.
As detailed in the call for papers, organizers welcome proposals for papers, roundtables, and workshops on issues including:
► ‘Forgetting’ and memory in war crimes;
► Implications of the use of national or international courts and tribunals;
► Problems of jurisdiction;
► Media's role and rhetoric in portraying war crimes;
► Witness perspectives;
► Legal issues, such as evidence, doctrine, and limitations; and
► Theory and war crimes.
