Nominate ASIL honorees

Even as this year's period to nominate the next leaders for the American Society of International Law nears an end (prior post) -- deadline is August 12 -- ASIL's also welcoming other nominations.
Specifically, the Honors Committee seeks nominations of individuals for the Society's highest honors, to be awarded at its March 2012 annual meeting in Washington, D.C. The awards are:
Manley O. Hudson Medal for scholarship and achievement in international law. Prior honorees here.
Goler T. Butcher Medal (right) for outstanding contributions to the development or effective realization of international human rights law. (photo credit) Butcher is an IntLawGrrls foremother, and last year's honoree was IntLawGrrls guest/alumna Gay McDougall; other prior honorees here.
Honorary Membership for a non-U.S. citizen who has rendered distinguished contributions or service in the field of international law. Prior honorees here.
Nominations for these honors are due August 31, 2011, and should be submitted via the form available here. Details here; e-mail any questions to Veronica Onorevole at awardsandhonors@asil.org.
