On August 4

On this day in ...
... 1972 (though some entries place it a day or 2 later), Norah Lange (left) died in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 67 years after she'd been born in the same city. (photo credit) She'd enjoyed a long career as an avant-garde writer and poet, a colleague of Jorge Luis Borges known as the "Muse of Ultraism" because of her appearance and personality. Argentina's writers' society, SADE, awarded her its Grand Prize of Honor and Gold Medal in 1958.

(Prior August 4 posts are here, here, here, and here.)
