... 2011 (today), is marked the 16th annual International Day of the World’s Indigenous People. The day -- which commemorates the 1st meeting, in 1982, of the U.N.Working Group on Indigenous Populations of the Subcommission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights -- was set aside by 1994 resolution of the U.N.
