Introducing Elise Keppler

It's our great pleasure to welcome Elise Keppler (right) as an IntLawGrrls contributor.
Senior Counsel with the International Justice Program at Human Rights Watch, Elise has focused her work on international criminal justice mechanisms at work in various countries of Africa; for example, the Special Court for Sierra Leone in that country; and the International Criminal Court investigations in Darfur, Sudan, and in Uganda. She's published numerous commentaries on these issues. In her IntLawGrrls introductory post below, she discusses her just-released Human Rights Watch briefing paper on national war crimes trials in Uganda.
Elise earned her law degree from the University of California at Berkeley and her undergraduate degree from Brown University. Before joining the International Justice Program, she practiced as a litigation associate at the New York law firm Schulte Roth & Zabel.
Heartfelt welcome!
