Go On! Refugee law & politics @ BU

"Still Waiting for Tomorrow: The Law and Politics of Unresolved Refugee Crises" is the title of a conference to be held all day Monday, April 2, 2010, at Boston University School of Law.
The 1st part of the conference will focus on the global scope and ramifications of protracted refugee crises; the 2d, on state responses and policies. The aim is to identify potential solutions.
Scheduled speakers include IntLawGrrl Kristine H. Huskey, Director of the Anti-Torture Program at Physicians for Human Rights, as well as: Karen AbuZayd, former Commissioner-General, U.N. Relief and Works Agency; Claude Bruderlein and Tyler Giannini, Harvard; Vincent Cochetel, UNHCR; Elena Fiddian-Qasmiyeh and Guy S. Goodwin-Gill, Oxford; Bill Frelick, Human Rights Watch; Spanish attorney Juan Garcés; Agnes Hurwitz, U.N. Development Programme; Khalid Khoser, Geneva Centre for Security Policy; Timothy Longman and Robert D. Sloane, Boston University; Karen Musalo, California-Hastings; André Nollkaemper, Amsterdam; Michele R. Pistone, Villanova; and Andrew I. Schoenholtz, Georgetown.
Cosponsors are the American Society of International Law and the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees.
