On June 3

On this day in ...
... 1763, occurred an event implementing Article XII of the February 1763 Treaty of Paris that Britain, France, and Spain concluded (and to which Portugal acceded), thus marking Britain's defeat of France and Spain in the Seven Years War. Specifically, the English resumed occupation of Minorca (flag credit), a Balearic island in the Mediterranean Sea south of Spain, to which it's belonged since 1939 by peaceful British transfer of power.
