... 1992 (20 years ago today), as proclaimed on February 24, 1976, Cuba's National Assembly of People’s Power began the 11th regular session of the 3rd Legislature, which resulted in an amendment to the Constitution that provided for religious freedom in Cuba. The guarantee appeared in amended Article 42 of the Constitution, the 1st sentence of which states:
'Discrimination because of race, skin color, sex, national origin, religious beliefs and any other form of discrimination harmful to human dignity is forbidden and will be punished by law.'
